Marijuana is a SCHEDULE 1 DRUG. WHY??

Why is marijuana classified as a schedule 1 drug?
Read these... and think about marijuana...

1. Schedule I

  2. The drug or other substance (MARIJUANA) has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
  3. There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance (MARIJUANA) under medical supervision.

2. Schedule II

  1. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
  2. The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions.
  3. Abuse of the drug or other substances may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence.

3. Schedule III

  1. The drug or other substance has a potential for abuse less than the drugs or other substances in schedules I and II.
  2. The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
  3. Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to moderate or low physical dependence or high psychological dependence.
Okay... you have read it... you are of avg/above avg intelligence... Now.... what do you think?? Should it be a SCHEDULE 1 DRUG? It just doesn't meet the requirements to be a schedule 1 drug does it. So, now all they have to do is reclassify it? Right?

This isn't a "how many people want to see it legalized" issue at this point... who cares... The fact is that it is simply misclassified. It is in the wrong SCHEDULE CLASS!
(oh... and there is some treaty put in place somewhere I believe that says if we change a class we have to let them know or something... It's more important than what I have just described, I will research more and let you know in another blog)

Do a little research and edjucate yourself.
Read this... READ what the FDA and the DEA official say about marijuana. They say that it MEETS all 3 of the criteria for a schedule 1 drug.
